Better Evaluation of Science and Technology Act
Purpose
To amend title 5, United States Code, to provide requirements for agency decision making based on science.
Summary of Selected Provisions
- Stipulates that all agencies should make science-based decisions using “scientific information, technical procedures, measures, methods, protocols, methodologies, or models, employed in a manner consistent with the best available science”
- Stipulates that these agencies should make public a “nontechnical summary of each risk evaluation” conducted, and a list of all studies considered
