                                        To reauthorize the Integrated Coastal and Ocean Observation System Act of 2009, and for other purposes.
                                    Summary of Selected Provisions
                                        Provisions in both bills
- Authorizes the administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to stagger the terms of members of the Interagency Ocean Observation Committee
Provisions in the House bill
- Reauthorizes the Integrated Ocean Observation System (IOOS) through fiscal year 2022 and authorizes an annual funding level of $36 million
Provisions in the Senate bill
- Reauthorizes IOOS through fiscal year 2021 and authorizes an annual funding level of $40 million
- Directs IOOS to implement a process by which observations are transformed into more easily used information products
- Requires submission to Congress of an Ocean Chemistry Coastal Community Vulnerability Assessment every five years
