Energy Technology Maturation Act of 2017
Purpose
To amend the Energy Policy Act of 2005 to facilitate the commercialization of energy and related technologies developed at Department of Energy facilities with promising commercial potential.
Summary of Selected Provisions
- Authorizes an Energy Technology Maturation Program that is substantially similar to the existing Energy Technology Commercialization Fund administered by DOE’s Office of Technology Transitions
- Establishes the fund’s current awards caps of $150,000 for projects that aim to attract private industry partners, and $750,000 for projects pursued with a private industry partner
