Purpose
To establish the IMPACT for Energy Foundation.
Summary of Selected Provisions
- Directs the Department of Energy to establish a nonprofit, independent foundation to accept and channel funding for innovation initiatives from private donors
- Specifies that the foundation can conduct and support studies, competitions, projects, research, development, commercialization, and other activities
- Establishes that the foundation’s board of directors comprise appointed members from industry, the academic community, nonprofit organizations, and other stakeholder groups
