Keep STEM Talent Act of 2019
Purpose
To provide lawful permanent resident status for certain advanced STEM degree holders, and for other purposes.
Summary of Selected Provisions
- Waives caps on green cards for foreign nationals that earned a STEM masters degree or higher from a U.S. institution and who are employed in a related STEM field within the U.S. or who have an offer of employment. The position must also pay above the median wage level in the surrounding geographic area
- Permits foreign nationals who are seeking student visas to declare interest in pursuing a career in the U.S. after graduation
