January 2014 Photos of the Month

JAN 07, 2014

This month, in honor of our photo archives’ namesake, Emilio Segrè, we wanted to highlight the work of other Italian physicists that have contributed to the allied sciences. Inventions and discoveries that have come from these scientists include telescopes (Galileo), batteries (Volta) and new elements on the periodic table (Fermi). Our photographic archival collection includes such physicists as: Orso Mario Corbino, Enrico Fermi, Ettore Majorana, Franco Rasetti and many more. Please enjoy our featured selection from our historical photos collection of these talented individuals. To see more images like the ones we’ve selected, type the name of the physicist in the search engine .
