2-Year Trends in Appropriations for Selected Programs, FY 1996-98

NOV 24, 1997

Looking back at appropriations funding over several years gives a perspective on funding trends for a program or agency. Below are appropriated amounts for selected programs from fiscal year 1996 through fiscal year 1998, adjusted for inflation so that all amounts are in constant (estimated) 1998 dollars. The calculations are based on GDP deflators published in the FY 1998 budget request document. Keep in mind that some funding changes are due to the commencement or completion of projects, facilities construction, or similar reasons.
