House Commerce Appropriations Subcommittee Roster

APR 17, 1998

The House Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, State, the Judiciary, and Related Agencies is responsible for writing an appropriations bill that funds, among other agencies, the Department of Commerce. Within the Commerce Department are the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA.) Below is the roster for this subcommittee for the second session of the 105th Congress. (FYI #58 contains the roster for the comparable Senate subcommittee.) (Full Committee Chair Robert Livingston, R-LA, and Ranking Democrat David Obey, D-WI, are also authorized to serve on all appropriations subcommittees.) Included with each subcommittee member’s name is a list of the higher education institutions in his or her district. Information on rosters and university/college listings comes from the Congressional Quarterly’s Washington Alert. See http://www.house.gov/MemberWWW.html for the Web sites of all representatives.
