February 15 - 19: Presidents’ Day Recess

March 29 - April 9: Spring Recess

May 31 - June 4 Memorial Day Recess

July 5 - July 9: Independence Day Recess

August 9 - September 10: Summer Recess

September 17: Yom Kippur begins

October 1: Fiscal Year 2011 begins

October 8: House target adjournment date (no Senate date has been set)

October 11: Columbus Day federal holiday

November 2: Election Day

November 11: Veterans’ Day federal holiday

November 25: Thanksgiving Day federal holiday

December 1: Hanukkah begins

Generally, during weeks that the House and Senate meet, Members are most likely to be in Washington on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
