Women and Minorities in STEM Booster Act of 2019
Purpose
To increase the participation of historically underrepresented demographic groups in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education and industry.
Summary of Selected Provisions
- Directs the National Science Foundation to award grants that support outreach and mentorship opportunities that aim to increase the participation of women and underrepresented minorities in STEM fields
- Recommends NSF allocate $15 million for such grants annually through fiscal year 2024
