Advanced Technological Manufacturing Act
Purpose
A bill to amend the Scientific and Advanced-Technology Act of 1992 to further support advanced technological manufacturing, and for other purposes.
Summary of Selected Provisions
- Directs the National Science Foundation to establish multiple pilot programs to expand the number of institutions “that are able to successfully compete for NSF grants”
- Specifies the programs must include at least one of the following elements: outreach, grant-writing assistance, programmatic support, increases to award amounts for new principal investigators, or recruitment of grant reviewers from institutions that “have not traditionally received funds” from NSF
