Emily Martin, Archives Assistant
Hello Everyone! I am the last of the assistants to wish our Into The Stacks tour farewell. It has been a lot of fun showing you a behind-the-scenes look at my job. I am so happy that I got to show you a brief look into what I do here at the Niels Bohr Library and Archive.
I showed you how the collection comes into the archive.

How I organize and inventory the collection.
Refoldering and rehousing documents from the American Geophysical Society in acid free folders and archival blue boxes. Next step is creating an inventory of the whole collection. -Emily pic.twitter.com/IzcdKBmIMV

Processing isn't all paper. The next step in the collection process is inputting all the information from the collection into a spreadsheet to create our online finding aid.

Finally, you got to see the finished product, organized labeled folders in standard archive boxes and an online finding aid.
And here is the result! We took this collection from binders and boxes that were falling apart to organized labeled folders in standard archive boxes and an online finding aid.

I also showed you the process of creating PHN biographical records of Nobel Laureates.
Archive work isn't all papers and folders. I am working on adding bibliographic information to our database for our Nobel Prize Laureate project.
Also, say hello to the Doctor! #drwho #physicsfun

You also learned some fun facts about one of our Nobel Laureates, Sir William Henry Bragg.
Hello all,
I am currently inputting the data for a Nobel Laureate. Fun fact, 1915 Physics Nobel Prize winner Sir William Henry Bragg helped introduce lacrosse to South Australia while working as professor at the University of Adelaide.

I had a great time sharing a look into what I do here as the Archives Assistant at the Niels Bohr Library and Archive. Keep an eye out for future posts from all of us!
