Outstanding undergraduate research awardees present in Croatia

2015 ICPS attendees - SPS

The Society of Physics Students is a member organization of the International Association of Physics Students (IAPS). Each year SPS supports two representatives to attend and present their research at the IAPS annual meeting, the International Conference of Physics Students (ICPS). Students Amanda Landcastle (SUNY College–Brockport) and Ariel Matalon (University of Chicago) are in Zagreb, Croatia, for the 2015 ICPS, now underway (August 12–19, 2015). See their posts on the SPS Facebook page, as they share photos and live updates. You can also see their research abstracts here.

Landcastle and Matalon are the winners of the SPS Award for Outstanding Undergraduate Research, the most prestigious undergraduate award bestowed by SPS. They were chosen from qualified applicants on the basis of their research, letters of recommendation, and SPS participation. They also receive a $500 honorarium for themselves and a $500 honorarium for their SPS chapter. We will be highlighting their follow-up reports in SPS publications.
