AIP, Member Societies Offer Recommendations for ESEA Reauthorization
The American Institute of Physics (AIP) joined five of its Member Societies on March 26, endorsing a letter to the House Committee on Education and Labor with recommendations for the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
The Department of Education recently issued a blueprint for ESEA reauthorization. That blueprint is a starting point for members of Congress to draft what will be the successor to the No Child Left Behind Act.
FYI #38 includes an overview of science components of the Department’s blueprint.
The letter is endorsed by AIP, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the American Association of Physics Teachers, the American Geophysical Union, the American Physical Society, and AVS: Science & Technology of Materials, Interfaces, and Processing.
