This year, 342 organizations across the Washington, D.C. region earned Top Workplace recognition. Among them, only six organizations identified as nonprofits, representing approximately 2% of all award recipients. We are especially proud that AIP is one of those six organizations, highlighting both the strength of our culture and our commitment to our mission.
The Washington, D.C. Top Workplaces program recognizes organizations that create exceptional workplace experiences for their employees.

“Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to creating an environment where employees feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow,” said Alicia Waller, AIP’s Talent & Culture Officer. “This recognition affirms our belief that when people thrive, organizations thrive. We are proud of the engagement, collaboration, and sense of purpose that define our workplace, and we remain dedicated to fostering a culture where talented professionals can do meaningful work and build fulfilling careers.”
The Top Workplaces survey, managed independently by Energage, assesses organizations based on the experiences and perspectives of their employees. It evaluates workplace culture across key areas including respect, support, growth, enablement, and empowerment to execute. Employees also provide feedback on leadership, communication, appreciation, meaningful work, pay and benefits, and overall engagement.
“Being recognized as a Top Workplace reflects the culture we have intentionally built together at AIP,” said Michael Moloney, CEO of AIP. “This achievement belongs to our employees, whose dedication, collaboration, and shared sense of purpose make AIP a place where people can do their best work. By investing in our people, we strengthen our ability to serve the physical sciences community and help ensure that science continues to benefit society.”
A strong workplace culture is fundamental to AIP’s ability to deliver on its mission. By attracting, developing, and supporting exceptional talent, AIP continues to provide trusted resources, foster collaboration across the scientific community, and champion the advancement of the physical sciences.
