The Emilio Segrè Visual Archives is composed of copies of images received from various donors and sources; we do not claim copyright to most images in our collections. We provide as much information as possible in our credit line and metadata; if the American Institute of Physics (AIP) is listed as the copyright holder of an image, you may use it freely without permission. If a non-AIP copyright holder is listed, we may have contact information on file and ask that you reach out to us at [email protected].
Responsibility for clearing copyright for publication or public display remains with the applicant. Users with questions pertaining to copyright liability should seek their own legal counsel, as we do not provide such guidance. Please be advised that the Emilio Segrè Visual Archives will not sign any publishers' forms or any legal contracts pertaining to the use of our images.
