Education
Mensing studied physics at the University of Hamburg under Wilhelm Lenz and worked closely there with Wolfgang Pauli. She received her PhD in March 1925.
Career
Between 1925 and 1928, Mensing held a series of short-term positions at the University of Göttingen, the University of Hamburg, and the University of Tübingen. Her work focused mainly on applications of quantum theory to problems in molecular physics, but her career in physics ended not long after she married fellow physicist Wilhelm Schütz in 1928.
