  • Figure 5: Primary Types of Financial Support for Physics Bachelors Enrolled in a Master’s Program One Year After Degree. Of those studying physics or astronomy, 31% were TAs, 14% were RA’s, 19% were supported by fellowships or scholarships, 36% were self-funded. Of those studying engineering, 11% were TAs, 18% were RAs, 21% were supported by fellowships or scholarships, 50% were self-funded. Of those studying other fields, 19% were TAs, 8% were RAs, 25% were supported by fellowships or scholarships, and 48% were self-funded. Self-funded includes family assistance, loans, and wages. Other fields does not include profession degree fields such as law and medicine.
