Photos of the Month — December 2014

The holiday season is setting in. When they were not at work, scientists from the past enjoyed the time of year that embraces family gatherings, food, and outdoor sports like skiing and skating. Our historical photo collection documents these important occasions. Whether it is the Homer Dodge or Werner Heisenberg family in front of the Christmas tree, Enrico Fermi and the Los Alamos team on a ski trip, or Santa Claus showing up at Oak Ridge National Laboratory, our photo archives remembers the holiday season with smiles and snow flurries. To see more images with your favorite scientists in the holiday spirit, try typing the keywords “winter, snow, outdoors, holidays, eating, drinking, skiing, ice skating”. We wish you a happy and safe holiday season in this month of December!
